Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily control the charge required for transmission at a user's side by counting the amount of data of image information to be transmitted, and calculating a communication distance from the information on an opponent device, calculating the charge from information from this circuit, and displaying the calculated charge. CONSTITUTION:Image information 1 is inputted to an arithmetic circuit 5 through a counter which counts the amount of a batch of image data. The arithmetic circuit 5 connects with a display device 6 for displaying the charge and a memory 7 for storing the charge value. The number of an opponent side is inputted as opponent number information 2 prior to transmission and converted into distance information, which is inputted to the arithmetic circuit 5; and the image information 1 is converted into digital data as one-picture-element information. Every time the information is collected by as many as one packet, they are sent through a circuit interface 8 and the counter 3 counts the amount of data at the sametime. When the transmission of the original is completed, the arithmetic circuit 5 calculates the charge on the basis of the counted value of the counter 3 and distance information 4 according to a charge calculation system and displays the result on the display device 6.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile machine and the like which is available for call and utilizing a data communication network, such as the Internets without troubles. SOLUTION: The facsimile machine IAF 10 is for real-time G3 facsimile communication as stipulated by the ITU Recommendations T, 38, using data communication net connecting means or data packet signal transmitting-receiving means. It comprises a means for detecting off-hook of a connected telephone for talking after connection of the telephone or means for detecting a dial number originating from the connected telephone. Based on the dial number signal detected, the facsimile machine generates a call-setting signal packet including a voice capacity and transmits it from data communication network connecting means. If the facsimile machine detects a voice capacity included in a received call connection signal packet from the data communication network connecting means, it connects a voice channel in the data communication network connecting means, to start a voice session.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain facsimile equipment capable of correctly transmitting the contents of a file even when the file attached to an electronic mail is not opened on an opposite side in the facsimile equipment having the transmitting/receiving function of the electronic mail. SOLUTION: A document file is transmitted as the attached file of an electronic mail from facsimile equipment on a transmitting side, and facsimile equipment on a receiving side receives this attached file. When the attached file cannot be opened normally by viewer software belonging to facsimile equipment or another application, an error message including contents showing the occurrence of the error, a facsimile number for an opposite side to use at the time of retransmission, etc., is transmitted to the facsimile equipment on the transmission side as an answer to the received mail. When the received electronic mail is an error message, the facsimile equipment on the transmission side retrieves the attached file to be retransmitted by referring to a text, etc. Then, the contents of the attached file are converted into an image to be retransmitted to the receiving side by a normal facsimile transmission sequence.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To read both sides of an original and to output them in good order by reading continuously the images of 1st and 2nd sides of each of plural originals to store them in a storage means, reading out the images of 1st sides in the order of storing and reading out the images of 2nd sides in the order opposite to that of the 2nd side images to alternately read out the images of both sides. SOLUTION: A CPU 5 performs the total control according to the software of a ROM 1, sets the both-sided originals on an original board, operates a control panel 4 and calls a both-sided transmitting instruction and a transmitting destination to start the transmission. The images of 1st sides of the originals are continuously read by a scanner 3, stored in an image memory 6 and then read out and transmitted in the order of storage. The originals are inverted in a bundle, and the images of 2nd sides of the originals are continuously read by the scanner 3 and stored in the memory 6. Then the images of 2nd sides of the originals are read out of the memory 6 in the order opposite to that of the 2nd side images. Thus, the images of both sides of the originals are alternately outputted. As a result, the images of both sides of the both-sided originals can be received in the order of pages not only by a both-sided receiving function terminal but by an ordinary terminal.

Then, a message previously stored in a memory 31 such as a message of 'Who is calling, please?' is inputted to the receiver signal of the normal master set 2 via the interface 21 and outputted from the speaker of the slave set 1. When a response is made to this, the message of a visitor is digitally coded and stored in a digital storing medium as digital information.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a print output for a required sheet number properly by designating combination between a transmission address and a document reference number so as to specify a received image and allowing a receiver side to input a required number of sheet. CONSTITUTION: A receiver side start the reception at the arrival of a call and stores a document reference number sent from a transmission terminal equipment. The number is allocated to each communication to allow each terminal equipment to definitely specify transmission information and incremented sequentially. Then a reception page number is set from a number '1'. A document reference number is designated in combination with a transmission address in combination with the protocol recommendations of a session layer to specify a received image. The receiver side stores the received transmission address, the document reference number and received image data at that time in cross reference to an address of a RAM13 for storage and stored in a table 14. Thus, a print with a required number of sheet can be outputted properly.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To allow a recipient to surely receive an original information by designating a time for outputting original information in a memory when an output designation time designated by a receiver comes. CONSTITUTION: A receiver sets a time designation output in advance. When the receiver receives a signal, the receiver extracts a terminal identifier comprising a sender FAX number or/and sender abbreviation sent from the sender and checks whether or not the identifier is the same as an identifier designated in advance by an operation panel 16 of the receiver. When the identifier is coincident with the designated identifier, the data are stored once in an image memory 13. Succeedingly the designated time is checked and when a time comes, display to identify easily a time designation output is at first outputted. Then a substantial received image is outputted. When the output is finished, a reception lamp 21 is blinked, When the original is received, the time designation output is confirmed by the reception lamp 21 and the special front cover to be outputted and a reception button 22 is depressed.
