    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and arrangements for controlling transmission of data bits in a bit transfer session for transmitting data information from an application server (2) to a client (1), said bit transfer session involving bit transfer over a wireless communications link by means of a transport protocol with a flow control mechanism. According to the present invention a radio resource managing unit (6) sends information regarding the bandwidth on the wireless link that the bit transfer session currently is allowed to use. This feedback information from the radio resource managing unit is used to set and update flow control parameters continuously throughout the session. Thereby optimization of the flow control parameters is facilitated, which makes it possible to enhance the end-user QoS and provide more efficient use of available radio resources.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for distributing media over a P2P IPTV network is described. The media is encoded into data fragments An internal time relative to an epoch time reference point is determined at a media injector. Each data fragment is tagged with a timestamp corresponding to the internal time at the moment the data is encoded. The data fragments are transmitted into the network, and received at a peer node, which stores the data fragments in a buffer. A suitable local time reference point, corresponding to the epoch time reference point, is determined at the peer node, and the frames encoded in the data fragments are passed to a media decoder on the basis of the timestamps of the data fragments, so that each frame is passed to the media decoder at a local time corresponding to the timestamp attached to the data fragment or fragments into which that frame is encoded.
