Abstract:
A method and arrangement for providing information to a client (200) from a client access network (202) regarding a requested set of users (204), at least some of which are connected to other access networks (206). In response to a client subscription request, the client access network establishes a network subscription with the other access networks. Information updates regarding users in the set are then continuously received and stored in a database (214) of the client access network, whenever the users change their state. In response to a subsequent request for user information from the client, corresponding stored user information is retrieved from the database and sent in a notification to the client.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for controlling an Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) system by gestures on a remote control involve determining a number of fingers touching a screen of the remote control; identifying at least one characteristic of movement by the fingers; based on the number determined and at least one characteristic identified, finding a corresponding predefined gesture in a set of predefined gestures; and based on the gesture found, generating a corresponding control command to be sent to the IPTV system.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to methods and arrangements for setting up a policy controlled bearer service for delivery of a service from an application function (304) to a mobile terminal (301). According to the present invention a terminal identity of the mobile terminal may be used to bind to applicable policy information when setting up the bearer service. Thus the present invention obviates the need to transmit specific binding information to the mobile terminal during application layer signaling for the purpose of policy controlled bearer service set-up. The terminal identity is registered (308) in a register of a policy decision function (303) along with policy identifying information. When a bearer service activation request is received from the mobile terminal (301) the request is mapped (313) to applicable policy information by means of the terminal identity and the matching registration in the register of the policy decision function (303).
Abstract:
A method for managing an automated service level agreement (SLA) negotiation between two providers (400a, 400b) belonging to different network domains, an initiating SLA negotiation manager (401a), a terminating SLA negotiation manager (401b), and a system for managing the negotiation. A negotiation is executed between two request handlers (40a, 402b) of the respective SLA negotiation managers. The request handler of the terminating SLA negotiation handler manages a policy checking procedure by interrogating an associated Policy Decision Point (PDP, 407) associated with the terminating SLA negotiation handler, via a resource handler (406b). A new or updated SLA, resulting from a successful negotiation is stored in an SLA database (SLA DB, 405a, 405), in the initiating, as well as in the terminating SLA negotiation manager.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a packet switched mobile telecommunication system, a rate controlling means in said system, a method and a computer program product. The system comprising at least a first rate controlling means residing in a Radio Controlling Entity, RCE, arranged for controlling bit rates of a first radio link to a first mobile terminal and a second rate controlling means arranged for controlling bit rates of a second radio link to a second mobile terminal. The first rate controlling means comprises means for notifying the second rate controlling means about a change of the bit rates of said first radio link, the first and the second rate controlling means comprise means for negotiating a corresponding change of the second radio link layer bit rate, and the first and the second rate controlling means comprise means for notifying their respective mobile terminals to modify their application layer bit rates accordingly.
