Abstract: A non-naturally occurring microbial organism includes a microbial organism having a 1,3-butanediol (1,3-BDO) pathway having at least one exogenous nucleic acid encoding a 1,3 BDO pathway enzyme expressed in a sufficient amount to produce 1,3-BDO. Un organismo microbiano de origen no natural que comprende, una senda biosintética para la producción de alcohol crotílico en donde dicha senda biosintética comprende por lo menos un ácido nucleico exógeno que codifica por lo menos una enzima de senda metabólica expresada en una cantidad suficiente para producir alcohol crotílico, en donde dicha enzima de la senda metabólica se selecciona a partir del grupo que consiste en una reductasa de4 crotonil-CoA, (formadora de aldehído), una reductasa de crotonaldehído (formadora de alcohol), una hidrolasa, sintetasa o transferasa, una reductasa de crotonil-CoA, una reductasa de crotonato, y una reductasa de crotonil-CoA (formadora de alcohol). Un método para la producción de alcohol crotílico que comprende cultivar el organismo microbiano de origen no natural, bajo condiciones y durante un periodo de tiempo suficiente para producir alcohol crotílico.

The invention additionally provides methods of using such microbial organisms to produce BDO, 4 hydroxybutyryl-CoA, 4-hydroxybutanal or putrescine.
