Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crosslinkable cyclic olefin (co)polymer giving an excellent chemical resistance and solvent resistance while keeping a high optical transparency, storage stability and heat resistance, and to provide its composition and a crosslinked material thereof. SOLUTION: The cyclic olefin (co)polymer has at least one kind of structural unit originating from a cyclic olefin having an oxetane structure and has a number average molecular weight of 5,000-1,500,000 based on polystyrene. The cyclic olefin (co)polymer composition containing the above (co)polymer and a reaction initiator for ring-opening an oxetanyl group, and the crosslinked material from this (co)polymer composition are provided. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a cyclic olefin addition polymer, wherein a monomer component containing a cyclic olefin having a polar group is addition-polymerized in a hydrocarbon solvent, using a catalyst component easy to obtain and without using a lot of aluminoxane.
SOLUTION: A cyclic olefin addition polymer is obtained by polymerizing, in a hydrocarbon solvent, a cyclic olefin containing a cyclic olefin having a specific polar group, using a polymerization catalyst composed of (i) a strong Bronsted acid modified compound, shown by formula (2): [L
n NiX][A] [In formula (2), L is a neutral legand or a solvent molecule, n is 0-3, X is a β-diketonato anion or a carboxylic acid anion having the 1-12C straight chain or branched alkyl, and Al is a non-coordinating anion or a weak-coordinating anion], of a compound selected from a Ni compound or a β-diketonatoNi or a carboxylate of Ni having a 1-12C straight chain or branched alkyl group, (ii) a Lewis acid compound and (iii) an alkyl aluminoxane.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an olefinic copolymer which gives an elastomer exhibiting high adhesion properties to and high compatibility with other materials as well as excellence in high coating properties and printing suitability, an elastomer having superior durability and further an elastomer free from or almost free from offensive odor, a method for producing the same and a rubber composition comprising the copolymer. SOLUTION: The copolymer comprises a constitutional unit (a) derived from ethylene, a constitutional unit (b) derived from a 3-12C α-olefin, a constitutional unit (c) derived from a cyclic olefin bearing a specific functional group and a constitutional unit (d) derived from an optionally employable unconjugated diene, and has an intrinsic viscosity [η], measured in decalin at 135 deg.C, of 0.1-10 dl/g.
