CONSTITUTION:The surface of a cell-adhesive substrate such as a petri dish shape substrate prepared by subjecting modified glass, polystyrene, etc., if necessary, to an ozone treatment, etc., is coated with a homopolymer or copolymer [e.g. acrylamide homo(co)polymer] having a critical dissolution temperature of 0-80 deg.C in water preferably in a pattern such as a pattern having lines and spaces or a polka dot pattern in a total coverage degree of 5-90% to provide the objective material.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To form a latent image with high sensitivity to visible light and to allow the parts except the latent image not to be hardened by the following irradiation with ultraviolet rays and to form a photopolymerized image by incorporating a specified thioxanthol derivative in the photosensitive composition. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive composition contains a polymerizable compound, a photopolymerization initiator having sensitivity in the visible region, and the thioxanthol derivatives represented by formula I in which each of Z and Z is independently benzo- or naphtho-ring and at least one of them is a substituent having a hetero atom, thus permitting the obtained photosensitive composition to have good compatibility.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive composition which can form a latent image in high sensitivity to visible light and can form an excellent photopolymer image by mixing a specified thioxanthol with a polymerizable compound and a photopolymerization initiator sensitive to visible light. CONSTITUTION:0.1-50 pts.wt. thioxanthol of the formula (wherein Z and Z are each a benzene or naphthalene ring which may be substituted) is mixed with 100 pts.wt. polymerizable compound (e.g. ethyl acrylate), 0.1-10 pts.wt. photopolymerization initiator sensitive to visible light, and optionally 0.1-10 pts.wt., per pt.wt. thioxanthol, amine (e.g. tributylamine) to obtain a photosenstive composition. This composition is applied to a substrate in a thickness of 0.1-10mum, dried and irradiated with visible light of a wavelength of 400-850nm after the pattern of the desired image to form a latent image on it, and the entire surface is irradiated with ultraviolet light. The image is developed with a solvent such as ethanol or methyl cellosolve.

CONSTITUTION:An electron-donative colorless dye and an electron-acceptive compound of formula I (Ar is a subtd. or unsubtd. phenyl, Y is a halogen, nitrile group, nitro or a 1-4C alkyl, an m is an integer of 0-2) are placed into a ball mill, a sand mill or the like together with an about 10% aqueous solution of a water-soluble high molecular weight compound, and are dispersed by pulverizing to a particle diameter of several micrometers, thereby preparing a coating liquid. The coating liquid is applied to a support such as a paper and a plastic film by use of a blade, an air knife or the like, followed by drying and a smoothening treatment to obtain a recording material.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable information recording and reproduction to be performed by use of a laser beam, by incorporating a specified phthalo-naphthalocyanine coloring matter into an information recording layer. CONSTITUTION:An information recording layer provided on a substrate comprises a phthalo-naphthalocyanine sulfonamide coloring matter of formula III, obtained by forming a phthalo-naphthalocyanine ring by use of a mixture of a compound of formula I with a compound of formula II in a molar ratio of I/II=3.99/0.01-0.01/3.99, followed by sulfonamidation. In formulas I and 11, each of X -X is oxygen or NH, each of Y -Y is hydrogen, a halogen, nitro or the like. In formula III, M is two hydrogen atoms, a metal, metallic halide or the like, PNPc is the phthalo-naphthalocyanine ring with M at the center thereof, and each of R and R is hydrogen, an alicyclic or aromatic hydrocarbon group or the like.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a recording material having high color forming sensitivity and being satisfactory in environmental resistance and stability of developed color images, when used with an electron-donative colorless dye, by using a specified compound as an electron-acceptive compound in a recording material using an electron-donative colorless dye and the electron-acceptive compound. CONSTITUTION:An electron-acceptive compound is a compound of formula (I), in a recording material using an electron-donative colorless dye and the electron-acceptive compound. In the formula, R is a 1-18C straight chain or branched alkyl, cycloalkyl which may have a bicyclic or tricyclic ring, substd. or unsubstd. aryl or heterocyclic ring group. The substituent group R, regardless of a straight chain, branched chain or cyclic structure, may be substd. by halogen, and may contain at least one oxygen or sulfur atom other than carbon atoms in the skeleton thereof. When R is an aryl, it may have a phenolic OH. Of the compounds of formula (I), particularly preferred is one which has a melting point of 70-200 deg.C, e.g., N-ethyl-4-hydroxyphthalide or N-butyl-4- hydroxyphthalide.

Abstract: NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R1 and R2 represent >=4C branched or ring part-containing acyl). EXAMPLE:Bis(2-ethylhexanoyloxy)(2,3-naphthalocyanato)silicone. PREPARATION:A dihydroxy (2,3-naphthalocyanato)silicone expressed by formula II is reacted with a carboxylic acid having a branched structure or cyclic part such as 2-heptylundecanoic acid in a solvent such as tetralin to afford a compound expressed by formula I. The compound expressed by formula II is synthesized, for example, by reacting a compound expressed by formula III with a compound expressed by formula IV to form 2,3-dicyanonaphthalene, followed by successive reactions to form a diiminoisoindoline compound and a dichloride expressed by formula V.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To cover widely the wave area for emission of semiconductor laser with a good sensitivity to obtain superior stability and film processability, by a method wherein an information recording layer contains a specific silicon naphthalocyanine compound. CONSTITUTION:An information recording layer contains a silicon naphthalocyanine compound shown by a formula (I) (where R1 and R2 may be either the same or different and represent 4 or more C branched alkyl, alkenyl, or cycloalkyl). This silicon naphthalocyanine compound can be easily obtained by performing the reaction of dihydroxy(2,3-naphthalocyanate)silicon with a branched alcohol shown by R1OH, R2OH. Because the compound has branched chain alkyl or alkenyl, an optical information recording medium has superior light absorption characteristics to a wavelength of 780-830nm. Furthermore, the compound having a solubility in a general-purpose organic solvent such as halogenated hydrocarbon, aromatic hydrocarbon, and ketone compound can dissolve in these solvents to be coated on a substrate in film form by a spray or roller coating etc.
