Abstract: La présente demande a pour objet des leucodérivés d'indoanilines, composés incolores qui, appliqués en solution aqueuse sur les fibres à teindre, s'oxydent à l'intérieur des fibres kératiniques en donnant les indoanilines correspondantes, lesquelles sont les composés colorés directement responsables de la teinture de la fibre. Les teintures ainsi obtenues présentent des qualités de solidité et d'intensité de coloration supérieures à celles des teintures réalisées par application directe des indoanilines, en raison de la meilleure solubilité des leucodérivés de ces composés et une meilleure pénétration dans la fibre kératinique. Les nouvelles diphénylamines répondent à la formule générale: (I) dans laquelle: R1 et R4 désignent un atome d'hydrogène, d'halogène, un groupement alkyle inférieur, alcoxy inférieur, amino, alkyl inférieur amino, acylamino, carbamylalkyl inférieur amino, hydroxyalkyl inférieur amino, carbalkoxy inférieur amino, uréido; R2 et R3 désignent un atome d'hydrogène, d'halogène, un groupement alkyle inférieur, alcoxy inférieur, acylamimo ou uréido; R5 désigne un atome d'hydrogène ou d'halogène, un groupement alkyle inférieur ou alcoxy inférieur; R6 désigne un groupement hydroxyalkyle inférieur, aminoalkyle inférieur, acylamino alkyle inférieur, mésylaminoalkyle inférieur, carbamylalkyle inférieur, sulfoalkyle inférieur, pipéridinoalkyle inférieur, morpholinoalkyle inférieur, monoalkyle inférieur aminoalkyle inférieur ou dialkyle inférieur aminoalkyle inférieur; R7 désigne un groupement alkyle inférieur, hydroxyalkyle inférieur, amimoalkyle inférieur, acylaminoalkyle inférieur, mésylaminoalkyle inférieur, carbamylalkyle inférieur, sulfoalkyle inférieur, pipéridinoalkyle inférieur, morpholinoalkyle inférieur, monoalkyle inférieur aminoalkyle inférieur ou dialkyle inférieur aminoalkyle inférieur. Les groupements alkyle inférieur et alcoxy inférieur contiennent de 1 à 6 et de préférence de 1 à 4 atomes de carbone et le groupement acyle représente un groupement R-CO dans lequel R est un radical aliphatique ou aromatique et désigne de préférence un alkyl inférieur ou un phényle. Les diphénylamines de formule (I) sont préparées par réduction indoanilines de formule générale (II) (II) dans laquelle R1 à R7 ont les significations ci-dessus indiquées. Compositions renfermant ces diphénylamines.

The alkyl and alkoxy groups above can contain from 1 to 6 carbon atoms and the acyl group can contain from 2 to 7 carbon atoms. The present invention also relates to a process for the preparation of the above indoanilines and to dye compositions for keratinic fibers, and in particular living human hair, containing said indoanilines.

The indoaniline is usefully employed in dye compositions for keratinic fibers, especially living human hair.

Heading C4P Indamine dyes and their inorganic or organic addition salts have the general formula wherein each of R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and B 4 independently represent H, halogen, C 1 -C 6 alkyl or alkoxy and R 5 and R 6 either both represent hydrogen or both represent the same or different optionally substituted alkyl radicals. Suitable salts include the tartrates, acetates, arylsulphonates, hydrochlorides, persulphates, perchlorates and the zinc chloride double salts. The compounds may be prepared by condensing 2,6-diaminopyridine with a para-phenylene diamine of formula in an aqueous, aqueous alcoholic or aqueous acetone medium in the presence of an oxidizing agent and optionally converting the resulting indamine or indamine salt into a desired salt. The oxidizing agent is suitably H 2 O 2 or an inorganic per-salt. Compounds where at least 2 of R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 are not hydrogen may be obtained by condensing 2,6-diaminopyridine with a quinone diimine of formula in an aqueous medium or in an inert solvent, in the presence of an acid corresponding to the desired salt. Compounds where R 5 and R 6 are both alkyl groups may also be prepared by condensing 2,6-diaminopyridine with a pnitroso-N,N-dialkylanidine of formula in an aqueous or alcoholic medium at 30-60‹ C. The compounds of Formula I are used for dyeing keratinaceous fibres, e.g. hair, either alone or in compositions containing other dyes and other ingredients conventionally employed in hair dyes. They can also be employed in the form of wave-setting lotions.
