    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a video projector capable of easily performing stereoscopic picture display and wide screen display without flickers. CONSTITUTION:In one video projector, odd-numbered/even-numbered fields are discriminated from input video signals in an EVEN/ODD discrimination circuit 34, one of them is selected by a screen changeover switch 9 and projection is performed by controlling an LCD panel 15. In this case, by using the holding effect of the LCD panel 15, the video signals of the other field is held during the period of the field without signals and the same pictures are projected. Two such video projectors are used, one is used for projecting the video signals of the even-numbered field, the other is used for projecting the video signals of the odd-numbered field and the stereoscopic display and the wide screen display are easily performed. At the time, by holding the video signals, the video pictures of the respective fields are doubled and the flickers are prevented.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To avoid the occurrence of chromatic aberration and to prevent the resolution of a stereoscopic video from being deteriorated by bisecting a display screen and making videos for a left eye and a right eye displayed on the respective screens arrive at a left eye and a right eye respectively by using reflection means. CONSTITUTION:The specified display screen is bisected and the videos for the left eye and the right eye whose viewpoints are different are displayed on bisected display areas, thereby providing the stereoscopic video. In such a case, the 1st reflection means ML1 and ML2 making the video for the left eye arrive at the left eye of an observer and the 2nd reflection means MR1 and MR2 making the video for the right eye arrive at the right eye of the observer are installed. Then, the videos for the left eye and the right eye displayed on the bisected display areas of the display screen are made to arrive at the left eye and the right eye through the 1st and the 2nd reflection means ML1, ML2, MR1 and MR2. Therefore, the chromatic aberration occurring when the video is made to arrive at each eyeball by using a prism is avoided.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To attain video display with high quality on an ultra-thin large sized screen by magnifying and projecting each sectional video image onto the screen and synthesizing each section video image magnified and projected to display a video image of one pattern. CONSTITUTION:The video display device is constituted of a light source section 3, a sectional video image generating section, e.g., being a liquid crystal display device 4, a reflecting plate and a projecting lens 5. Each liquid crystal display device 4 is provided with a square hole corresponding to the size of each device 4 respectively and supported by a liquid crystal display device support plate 7 fixed to a case 2. Furthermore, the projecting lens 5 is supported by the liquid crystal display device support plate corresponding to each liquid crystal display device 4. In addition each video image projecting means uses two reflecting plates between which a light is reflected so that a Z-shaped projecting optical path is formed while each sectional video image is projected to a screen 1. Thus, the distance between the light source 3 and the screen 1 is made narrow.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To record a high picture quality still picture with inexpensive constitution employing a consumer use VTR by sequentially modulating each of three primary color signals or a luminance signal and two kinds of color difference signals with an analog signal and recording the modulated signal onto a recording medium sequentially. CONSTITUTION:A recording signal fed to a VTR 21 is subject to FM modulation, converted into an FM recording signal at a luminance signal recording frequency band and fed to a single recording head. When the recording is commanded from a controller 16 to the VTR 21, each of R, G, B signals is subject to FM recording sequentially corresponding to a still picture of one frame in a prescribed recording format onto a magnetic tape. That is, the R signal by one frame is recorded on an R recording track for a 1st frame period, the G signal by one frame is recorded on a G recording track for a 2nd frame period, and the B signal by one frame is recorded on a B recording track for a 3rd frame period respectively.
