Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a printer having a plurality of pressure generating means for one ink chamber at low cost without complicating the manufacturing process even in case of small quantity variety production. SOLUTION: A diaphragm 113 is mounted on one major surface of a channel plate having a recess opening toward the one major surface and each ink chamber 114 is formed thereon. At least one piezoelectric film 162 and electrode 163 are laminated sequentially on the diaphragm 113 at a position corresponding to each ink chamber 114 and then the electrode 163 is divided into a plurality of sections at a predetermined position by means of a diamond blade 164, for example. The piezoelectric film 162 is arranged on the diaphragm after being shaped specifically by sand blast or printed on the diaphragm at a specified position thereof.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet printer enabling an auxiliary operation such as a control over formation of satellite drops at the time of discharge of ink drops without increasing a count of driving signals, etc. SOLUTION: Two piezoelectric elements 116a, 116b of mutually different natural frequencies are set for each nozzle 118. The same driving signal is applied to these two piezoelectric elements 116a, 116b, whereby ink drops are discharged by the piezoelectric element 116a of a shorter natural frequency, while the piezoelectric element 116b of a longer natural frequency is acted to restrict generation of satellite drops at the discharge of the ink drops. A trail of the ink drop can be cut at an early stage and generation of satellite drops can be restricted. Different driving signals are not applied separately to the two piezoelectric elements 116a, 116b, but the single driving signal is used to drive the two piezoelectric elements. A count of necessary driving signals is reduced as a whole.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printer capable of faithfully performing various expressions by performing discharge by drive signals having different waveforms and an apparatus and method for driving a recording head for the ink jet printer. SOLUTION: A waveform selecting part 141-1 selects either one of a plurality of drive signals 145-0-145-N outputted from a drive waveform forming part 142 in a time sharing manner on the basis of the waveform selecting signal 146-1 from a drive waveform selecting control part 143 to supply the selected drive signal to the piezoelectric element provided in a corresponding nozzle. By this constitution, the ejection control of ink droplets is performed by the drive signals having waveforms different with the elapse of time. Other waveform selecting parts 141-2-141-n are operated in the same way. The time sharing selection of drive signals 145-0-145-N is also performed not only at every discharge cycle but also within the discharge cycle.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To easily confirm an image continuously fetched before printing by sequentially displaying a recorded image to a storage means fetching an image intermittently sequentially and printing out the image in the fetching order. CONSTITUTION: The printer is provided with a frame memory(FM) 8 storing an image comprising video signals by the prescribed number of frame at a preceding time interval by storing the video signal intermittently at the specified tie interval. Then the video signal stored in the FM 8 is outputted sequentially on a monitor 6 and the monitor 6 is provided with a video signal output means displaying the image stored in the FM 8 in the stored order sequentially at a specified time interval. Thus, the image recorded in the FM 8 is confirmed via the monitor 6. After the video signal is outputted by the video signal output means, the images stored in the FM 8 are arranged in the order of recording and printed out on paper, then the image continuously fetched before the printing is confirmed.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To easily and surely print out only one scene of a consecutive motion by sequentially recording an image comprising video signals to a recording means at a specified time interval, and selectively displaying the image and printing out it. CONSTITUTION: A frame memory(FM) 8 is a memory circuit of a large capacity comprising a general-purpose D-RAM, operated under the control of a memory control circuit 9 and stores digital video signals DV in terms of a field in the write mode. When the video printer 1 is set to the print mode, the FM 8 is controlled by a memory control circuit 9 and the recorded image data are outputted to a thermal head control circuit 12. Then the video image comprising the video signals are sequentially recorded on the FM 8 at a specified time interval and the image recorded in the FM 8 in response to the operation of an operator is displayed selectively and one scene of the consecutive operation is selected on the display screen by printing out the selectively displayed image and then printed out.
