Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition capable of obtaining fibers or films of excellent travelability and wear resistance, esp. suitable for magnetic tapes by incorporating a thermoplastic polyester with spherical vaterite-type calcium carbonate particles. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be obtained by incorporating (A) 100 pts. wt. of a thermoplastic polyester made up of (1) a carboxylic acid component predominant in an aromatic dicarboxylic acid and (2) a glycol component predominant in an aliphatic glycol with (B) 0.01 - 10 pts. wt. of vaterite- type calcium carbonate having >= 30 m /g in the specific surface area determined by the BET adsorption technique, 0.01 - 5mum in mean particle diameter and 0.3 - 0.52 in the view factor (f) of the equation (V is particle volume mum ; D is maximal diameter mum of the projected area of particle), prepared by blowing carbon dioxide in calcium hydroxide in an alcoholic solvent to once convert into an amorphous gelled product, which is then put to regulation for particle shape, particle size distribution, and particle diameter, etc.

The heat-resistant resin layer are directly bonded.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a high-quality polyester resin sheet at a high output rate. SOLUTION: A layer composed of a polyester resin B with MB-PB representing a difference between a metallic element equivalent MB (mol/t), and a phosphorus element equivalent PB (mol/t) which is within the range of -30 to 5, is laminated on at least one of the sides of a layer composed of a polyester resin A with MA-PA representing a difference between a metallic element equivalent MA (mol/t) and a phosphorus element equivalent PA (mold/t) which is within the range of 10 to 80. Further, a molten polyester resin sheet is discharged onto a rotary cooling body from a die head. Then the sheet is electrically charged by applying voltage to an electrode set on the sheet and cooled in close contact with the rotary cooling body. Thus, the polyester resin sheet is manufactured.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the surface smoothness and the bondability by co-extruding and laminating a thermoplastic resin layer of a specified glass transition point temperature on one surface of a liquid crystal resin layer. SOLUTION: When this liquid crystal resin laminated film which is suitable as an industrial material for an electric circuit substrate or the like is manufactured, a liquid crystal resin and a thermoplastic resin wherein the glass transition point temperature is 100 deg.C or higher, and the molecular chain is rigid, are laminated under a molten state by a co-extrusion. In this case, the thickness of the liquid crystal resin layer is preferably set to be 50-95% of the total laminated film thickness in order to satisfy the characteristics of the laminated film while the molten stream of the liquid crystal resin is made uniform. In addition, in order to obtain the film surface smoothness, the surface roughness of the thermoplastic resin layer is preferably made 3 μm or lower. As the thermoplastic resin of which the glass transition point is 100 deg.C or higher, polyarylate, polyetherimide, polyimide, polyamideimide, polyethersulfone, polysulfone and their copolymers or blended substances or the like can be used.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermoplastic resin sheet excellent in productivity and also quality and useful as an industrial material, a magnetic material or the like by applying pulse waveform voltages having a specific range of a repeated frequency to electrodes placed on a thermoplastic resin sheet to make the sheet adhere to a body of rotation. SOLUTION: The objective sheet is obtained by applying pulse waveform voltages having a repeated frequency from 200 Hz to 30 kHz and preferably having 0.1-10 μs of the half-width value of a pulse and 0.05-5 μs of a pulse rise time to electrodes (preferably wire electrodes or the like) placed on a thermoplastic resin sheet made of e.g. polyethylene terephthalate to make the sheet adhere to a body of rotation. The thermoplastic resin sheet preferably is produced by melting a thermoplastic resin having a melting specific resistance of 108-1012 Ω.cm and by extruding it as a melt sheet from a spinneret. The body of rotation preferably is a rotary cooling body on which the above sheet is cooled and solidified in an adhered state to the cooling body.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the formation of the surface defect of a roll by preventing the discharge to a cooling roll at the time of generation of air bubbles in a molten sheet inevitable when a moltn polymer sheet is brought into close contact with the cooling roll by the application of static electricity. SOLUTION: In a molding apparatus for molding a molten polymer sheet extruded from a cap by bringing the molten polymer sheet into close contact with a cooling roll by electrostatic force to cool the same, an earth electrode is provided at the position holding the molten polymer sheet corresponding to a static electricity applying electrode and the value of a current flowing to the earth electrode is monitored. This molding apparatus is used to bring the molten polymer sheet into close contact with the cooling roll and, when a defect such as air bubbles is generated in the molten polymer sheet, the value of the current flowing to the grounding electrode is monitored before the discharge to the cooling roll is generated to stop the application of static electricity.
