    Abstract: A system for stretching the piriformis muscle may comprise a thigh strap, calf strap and one or more handles. A handle may be pulled to urge the piriformis muscle into a more elongated position. The thigh strap and calf strap may be of equal or unequal length. An optional knee void may be used for alignment purposes and may be found beneath a handle.

    Abstract: A walking assist device which assists walking motion of one of the legs of the human with a sensor attached only to the one leg is provided. The walking assist device having an actuator, a sensor, and a controller. The sensor detects a knee joint angle and a hip joint angle of the one leg. The controller stores a first target trajectory for the knee joint angle and a second target trajectory for the hip joint angle. The controller controls the actuator so that the detected knee joint angle follows the first target trajectory. Further, the controller compares time series data of the detected hip joint angle with the second target trajectory while the one leg is in a stance phase. The controller calculates a time difference between the time series data and the second target trajectory and modifies the first target trajectory based on the time difference.

    Abstract: The invention relates to an exercise system/device for exercising a user's upper limb. The exercise system/device is intended for use in rehabilitating patients suffering hemiparesis that causes one upper limb to be at least partially paralysed. For example, the exercise system/device can be used for neuroplastic retraining rehabilitation techniques for enabling patients to regain control of their paralysed upper extremities, including shoulders, elbows, wrists and fingers, but primarily their shoulders and elbows via larger arm movements. This is achieved through the use of an elongate handle and a motion sensing device associated with the handle for communicating the user's movements of the A handle to a gaming system. Although the exercise system/device is primarily for rehabilitation of patients suffering hemiparesis, it will be appreciated that it may also be used by any person for bilateral training and exercising upper limbs.

    Abstract: In one embodiment, a shoulder exercise and stretching apparatus includes a forearm support, a forearm securing means for securing a user's forearm to the forearm support, an elbow support to capture the elbow of a user and keep the user's arm in a desired position to isolate the user's shoulder as a pivot point for rotation, and a rotation member coupled to the forearm support to rotate the forearm support through a desired plane and thereby provide an angular force to a target shoulder of the user. Measurement means may be provided for determining the rotation of the apparatus. Resistance means may be provided to provide for resistance exercises of the shoulder.

    Abstract: A therapeutic apparatus is provided including a base having a bottom plate and a plurality of top plates. A top surface of the bottom plate is equipped with a plurality of recessed channels formed therein. The plurality of top plates are mounted to the top surface of the bottom plate. A shaft of each of the stopper assemblies is movable to a raised orientation for blocking the corresponding recessed channel. In such raised orientation, the shaft prevents movement of the rotating foot mount and carriage assembly within the recessed channels.
