Abstract:
PURPOSE:To perform stably continuous casting while preventing generation of breakout by connecting a means for controlling the molten metal level in a casting mold and a means for predicting the breakout as well as a drawing means. CONSTITUTION:A load cell 21 attached to a main rod 20 produces an output in accordance with the oscillating resistance of a casting mold 1. When the output from the cell 21 decreases owing to the rupture, etc. of a billet 4, the breakout is predicted. Then the drawing of the billet 4 is stopped or decelerated and a stopper driver 28 is actuated to descend a stopper 8, thereby limiting the charging amt. of a molten metal 3 and preventing generation of the breakout. The level in the molten metal 3 in the mold 1 is measured with a device 26 for measuring the molten metal level and is inputted to a circuit 29 for controlling the molten metal level, thereby adjusting finely the height of the stopper 8.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To execute a drawing operation of a billet in an early time and to prevent the growth of alumina in an immersion casting port consisting of graphite in the stage of starting charging the molten metal into a continuous casting metallic mold by supplying heat from the outside to prevent the quick cooling around the casting port. CONSTITUTION: An immersion casting port 4 which can maintain a min. required space from the inside wall surface of a continuous casting metallic mold 6 for forming a billet 1 like a thin plate is inserted into the mold 6. The port 4 is preheated to the temp. of a molten metal and said temp. is maintained during the casting operation. The molten metal is automatically charged into the casting space 6a of the metal 6 and when the level 10 of the molten metal arrives at the height in the aperture 4a for charging, the drawing of the billet 1 is automatically started. A stopper 5 opens further at the same instant, then the molten metal arrives at a level 9, and the billet 1 is continuously drawn. The level 9 is adjusted to a target height. Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make a level of the molten metal constant and to enhance level detecting accuracy, by using a float, whose durability is maintained by a gas cooling method, and directly detecting the level of molten metal in a mold. CONSTITUTION:In casting operation, the level of molten metal in a mold is outputted as an electric signal A by a level detector 16 through a float. When the electric signal A can be transmitted, the input signal A from the level detector 16 and an input signal B from a control level setter 19 are compared and operated by a comparing operator 17. Based on the difference, a control signal C is transmitted to a control device 20. When the level of the molten metal is higher than a preset level and the constant speed casting is performed, a signal (a) is sent to a controller 22 and a sliding nozzle of a tundish is squeezed. In the operation other than this, a signal (c), which expedites the casting speed is sent to a controller 26 through a pinch roll, and the level of the molten metal is returned to the preset level.

본 발명은 주편 품질 예측 장치 및 그 방법에 관한 것으로, 용강을 공급받아 수용하는 주형 상측의 복수 영역에 마련되어 용강의 탕면 높이를 검출하는 복수의 탕면 높이 검출부와, 탕면 높이 검출부로부터 검출된 복수 영역에서의 탕면의 높이를 이용하여 탕면 유동 패턴을 생성하는 탕면 유동 검출부와, 탕면 유동 패턴과 그에 따라 생산되는 주편의 품질 데이터를 저장하는 데이터 저장부와, 탕면 유동 검출부로부터 검출된 탕면 유동 패턴과 그에 따른 주편 품질을 데이터 저장부로부터 추출하여 주편의 품질을 예측하는 주편 품질 예측부를 포함하는 주편 품질 예측 장치 및 그 방법이 제시된다.
