Abstract:
An integrated system for releasing trapped persons in a vehicle (PARIS) includes a central management unit (CPU) to which sensors (D1, D2, . . . Dn), an input-output socket (S) for connecting a service computer and control switches or buttons, and at least the following are connected at an output of the central management unit: an automatic seatbelt cutting system (SBC), a system for automatically opening door locks and bolts and locking them in the open position (LOB), and a system for automatically swinging doors and locking them in the open position (DOB).
Abstract:
A switched-mode light-emitting diode (LED) display unit satisfying fire-fighting smoke exhaust and ventilation requirements includes an LED display unit, a mounting member, an opening-closing actuator and a pressing member. The LED display unit is mounted on the mounting member and the mounting member is mounted on a display panel by an opening-closing actuator and pressed against the display panel by a pressing member. The switched-mode LED display unit provides the pressing member that works to release the pressed mounting member after obtaining a triggering command and the opening-closing actuator that turns on the LED display unit subsequently, thereby meeting the fire smoke exhaust ventilation requirement of the internal surface or the external surface of a building.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is an apparatus for variable fluid damping. The apparatus comprises a mount. The apparatus also comprises a damper coupled to the mount to apply a damping force in response to movement of the mount. The apparatus further comprises an electrical element positioned to correspond to the damper. The apparatus additionally comprises a rheological fluid disposed in the damper. The rheological fluid changes viscosity in response to a change in an output of the electrical element to change the damping force of the damper. The apparatus also comprises a controller to provide input to the electrical element in response to a normal operating condition or an emergency operating condition.
Abstract:
A jack system provided with a cylinder provided with a first stopper. The jack system also includes: a body hinged about an end of the piston, the body including a second stopper and being able to occupy a first angular position authorizing the extraction of the piston, as well as a second angular position uniquely allowed when the piston occupies a position such that the second stopper is located beyond the first stopper in an extraction position, the body occupying the second position providing the facing of the first and second stoppers; and an electromagnetic attraction/repulsion device designed to provide the displacement of the body from the first position to the second position, and inversely.
Abstract:
A heavy door open and close system is provided using a pneumatic cylinder utilizing on board vehicle air. The system includes a hydraulic cylinder which is adapted to lock the door in either an open or closed position. A manual activation system uses a hydraulic valve to unlock the hydraulic cylinder and a pneumatic valve to actuate the pneumatic cylinder to open or close the door. An emergency pneumatic actuation system is also provided for use when the system loses the use of on board air of the vehicle.
Abstract:
A door sealing system is used to seal a container of a vacuum system. In a preferred embodiment the vacuum system has a container door supported on a frame and adapted to seal the container when the container door is closed. A latch assembly supported on the container door is used to latch the container door to the container along a load bearing axis. A power operated pulling assembly located within the container forces the container door against the container by applying a load on the door that is collinear with the load bearing axis of the latch assembly. The power operated pulling assembly seals the container door to the container. The mechanical locking assembly is adapted to maintain the door in a sealed configuration after the power operated pulling assembly has sealed the container.
Abstract:
A lock (57) for a door assist system (12) for use on a vehicle door (10) and connected to a vehicle to lock the door into an open position includes a door handle (40) having a first operable position, a second operable position and a released position, a pneumatic actuator (28) having an actuator rod (32), where the actuator rod is extendable when the door handle is in the first operable position and the actuator rod is retractable when the door handle is in the second operable position. The door assist system also includes a slide block (34) displaceable by the actuator rod of the pneumatic actuator. A lock (57) also includes a door link (54) connecting the slide block (34) to the vehicle frame. As the slide block is displaced away from the pneumatic actuator (28), the door link opens the door (10) with respect to the vehicle. The lock also includes a hydraulic locking actuator (58) with a hydraulic rod (66) extendable and retractable with the slide block (34). When the door handle (40) is in the released position, the actuator rod (32) is prevented from extension and retraction and locks the slide block (34) at the current location, preventing opening or closing of the door (10).
Abstract:
An unlock mechanism for a rotary door operator of a transit vehicle includes a pivotally disposed lock member adapted for rotating into an unlock position and activating a valve for discharging the fluid pressure from a drive cylinder to enable a manual opening of the door. A spring is provided for biasing the lock member into a lock position. The lock member may be moved into the unlock position either with a cable or a lever handle.
