Abstract:
Systems and methods for the self management of health using a natural language interface. A system or method for self-management of health initiates dialogue with a user to solicit health information from the user using a natural language (NL) interface; In addition, the system or method may respond unsolicited health information from the user provided via a NL interface. The health information from the user is semantically processed in accordance with pre-specified health management rules to facilitate user self management of health. The natural language interface is a constrained natural language. The natural language interface interact with a speech recognition system. The health management logic includes a common sense reasoning logic to semantically process NL input from the user according to rules to emulate common sense reasoning.

Abstract:
The present invention provides methods for synthesizing the trans isomer of capsaicin and/or capsaicin-like compounds by utilizing a process wherein the trans geometry is set from the beginning of the synthesis reaction and carried through the entire synthesis process.
Abstract:
The present invention provides capsaicinoid gel formulations and methods for relieving pre- and post-surgical pain at a site in a human or animal by administering at a surgical site in a human or animal in need thereof a dose of capsaicinoid gel in an amount effective to attenuate post-surgical pain at the surgical site, the dose of capsaicin ranging from 100 µg to 10,000µg.
