    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange a movable sheath in a target position in a lumen or a cavity, by arranging in a removable manner a means that allows the operation of an occluding device stored in the movable sheath and its cavity from the proximal end, in order to deflect it transversely at the distal position. SOLUTION: The catheter lead-in system is furnished with a lead-in catheter 12 and a occluding device 14, the lead-in catheter 12 has a movable sheath 16 and a hemostatic valve assembly 18, and the occluding device 14 is provided with a movable body 20 and an operating handle 22. And withdrawal of the occluding device 14 in an appropriate position of the lead-in catheter 12 having a tapered distal head 26 extending from the distal position 28 of the sheath 16 proximally relevant to a thumb lever 30 causes a transverse deflection of the distal portion of the movable sheath 16 arranged on the occluding device 14. And preferably, at least the movable sheath 16 has a heightened movability across an area where it is deflected transversely.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine the length of a blood vessel lesion by measuring a distance between a first and a second markers by aligning the first marker on a first slender member provided within a lumen with a first target location, and by aligning the second marker on a second slender member with a second target location.     Abstract: PURPOSE: To enable desirable treatment of aneurysms and other cases with a graft which includes a tubular frame and an inner liner, by providing the liner so that it covers a distance of a lumen of the tubular frame from a position near its proximal end to a position near its distal end. CONSTITUTION: A graft structure 10 consists of a cloth liner 12 and a tubular frame having holes which are radially compressible. The tubular frame 14 comprises band members 11 that include zigzag or Z-shaped elements which forms many continuous circular rings that are radially compressible. Adjacent band members 11 which are spaced apart at a short distance of d are connected by two bridge elements 13 provided at diametrically opposed positions so that a required flexibility is retained. The liner 12 normally goes through the gap between the adjacent band members 11 and outward from the lumen inside the tubular frame 14 to the outside of the frame 14.

    Abstract: A delivery catheter for a radially compressible tubular prosthesis comprises an elongate shaft slidably received within an elongate sheath. The prosthesis is carried over the distal end of the shaft where it is contained in a radially compressed configuration by the sheath. The prosthesis is carried within a plurality of elongate, relatively hard runners, and is restrained in a radially compressed configuration by the cover. The prosthesis may be released by proximally retracting the cover. The runners may optionally remain disposed about the prosthesis to be retracted separately, or, alternatively, the runners retract proximally with the cover as the prosthesis slides over the hard runner surfaces.
