Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display information to users about a process plant environment.SOLUTION: Graphic elements are used as portions of graphic displays and executed in a process plant to display information to users about the process plant environment, such as the current state of devices within the process plant. Each of the graphic elements is an executable object that includes a property or a variable that may be bound to an associated process entity, like a field device, and that includes multiple visualizations, each of which may be used to graphically depict the associated process entity on a user interface when the graphic element is executed as part of the graphic display. Any of the graphic element visualizations may be used in any particular graphic display and the same graphic display may use different ones of the visualizations at different times.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an integrated graphical runtime interface that provides a safe and highly available environment to a process control system.SOLUTION: One exemplary method for displaying process control information through a graphical user interface includes instantiating a runtime work space so as to be operably interposed between an operating system of an operator station and a user. The exemplary method includes displaying a plurality of panels through the graphical user interface, and displaying a part of the process control information associated with the runtime application through the runtime work space application on at least one of the plurality of panels.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable all of critical or necessary function blocks within the control module to execute in one macrocycle of a Fieldbus segment, thereby executing synchronously on a Fieldbus segment. SOLUTION: A control module is automatically configured for synchronous execution on the Fieldbus segment of a process control network by determining if all of the critical function blocks of a particular control module is assigned to FOUNDATION (R) Fieldbus field devices or to an I/O device associated with a particular Fieldbus segment. If the critical function blocks are assigned, the function blocks of the control module is automatically assigned to the I/O device for the Fieldbus segment. This operation increases the overall execution rate of the control module. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide graphical display support within a process plant configuration, monitoring and simulation system to enable graphical displays to be created in a manner in which they are associated with one another in the runtime environment.SOLUTION: A single graphic display editor may be used to create various interrelated graphic displays that may be accessed from one another in the runtime environment to provide further information about a process entity within one of the graphic displays, to scroll through adjacent sections of a process plant or to provide different functions in the process plant with different displays for an operator viewing function, a simulation function and a maintenance function. Because the same graphic editor is being used to create the graphic displays, the time is reduced which is required to configure and create process graphic displays used in a process plant.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide graphic elements and graphic displays for use in a process environment to display information to one or more users about the process environment such as the current state of devices within a process plant.SOLUTION: The graphic elements and displays may be associated with various logical entities and physical entities within a process plant while configuring the process plant, or may be configured to be downloaded to hardware within a process plant together with other constituent items such as a control routine. The graphic elements and graphic displays may be configured by being created to be stored within a library and then associated with various logical or physical entities within the plant.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, device and product for accessing process control data.SOLUTION: The method, device and product for accessing the process control data includes a step for loading a client object, and a step for communicating with a real object configured so as to make a data access request communicate with a server from the client object. The real object communicates with the server about an inquiry on the basis of the data access request, and acquires the process control data from the server in response to the inquiry. Next, the process control data is mapped to a second data layout related to a client schema from a first data layout related to a server schema. The mapped process control data is then communicated with an application.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the selection of a model for a process object in a work space available to a user.SOLUTION: A prompt is outputted to a user so as to select a model for a process object in a work space, a model is selected from among a plurality of models, and the model simulates the operation of a physical entity of a process plant corresponding to the process object. The process object in the work space has a step response model associated with a first parameter of the process object and a first main model associated with a second parameter of the process object, and a prompt is outputted to a user so as to select a model, thereby outputting a prompt so that the user can select a model from at least between the step response model and the first main model.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide port information associated with a service interface for a client process in order to transmit process control information between the client process and a server process.SOLUTION: A service-oriented architecture for a process control system is disclosed. In one example, a method for transmitting process control information between a client process (204) and a server process (202) in the process control system (200) establishes the server process including a plurality of process control services (206, ..., 210) each of which has respective one of corresponding service interfaces (212, ..., 216). The method also establishes the client process having proxies (220, ..., 224) for a respective plurality of services in which communication connection is established by the client process.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To bind at least one property to at least one of a variable, a script and a data source by associating them through a resource manager at execution time. SOLUTION: During execution, a data context related to an application is provided to the resource manager, at least one of a variable, a script and a data source reference is associated with at least one proxy from the data context through the resource manager, and at least one property is bound to the at least one of the variable, the script and the data source. A context object may be used to bind the at least one property to the data source reference. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
