Abstract:
Appropriate parameters can be efficiently set for network ports included in a storage apparatus. A storage apparatus 10 performing I/O processing on a storage drive 18 in response to an I/O request manages a first table 1700 in which a network device (SAS controller 151, SAS expander 191) is associated with location information of the network ports (network port 1514, network port 1914), a second table 1900 in which the cable length of a network cable 105 coupled to each of the network ports is associated with a port ID of the network port, and a relationship between the cable length of the network cable 105 and the parameter (output amplitude, pre-emphasis) set for the network port. The storage apparatus 10 acquires the cable length of the network cable 105 from the second table 1900, determines the parameters corresponding to the acquired cable length from the above relationship, and sets the determined parameter for the network port.

Abstract:
The difference in the form of connectors connected to data transmission cables is absorbed. A disk array apparatus has a plurality of disk units for executing data input/output processing on storage devices in accordance with a control command from a disk controller; wherein an interface substrate is placed at each disk unit and the interface substrate has a plurality of cable connection connectors to be connected to cables; and a first cable connection connector is connected to a local disk unit, where the relevant connector is placed, via a first data transmission cable; and a second cable connection connector is connected to an adjacent disk unit, which is located adjacent to the local disk unit, or an interface substrate which is placed in the adjacent disk unit, via a second data transmission cable; and these cable connection connectors are configured as connectors in mutually different forms.

Abstract:
An animation system of a numeric controller which prevents flicker on a display surface and moves at a high speed graphics of a tool, etc. First memory means (1) stores a predetermined figure of a tool, etc., moving on the display screen, as an original figure. Second memory means (2) stores at least one differential figure as the difference between the original figure and the original figure which is deviated to a predetermined position. Third memory means (3) stores another predetermined figure such as a workpiece to be displayed at a fixed position on the display screen, as a fixed figure. Arithmetic means (4) calculates exclusive-OR between the original figure stored in the first memory means (1) and one of the differential figure stored in the second memory means (2) corresponding to the moving direction of the original figure, and determines the figure after a movement. Synthesis display means (5) synthesizes the figure obtained by the arithmetic means (4) and all the fixed figures stored in the third memory means (3) and displays it on a display (43).

Abstract:
According to the conventional art disk array system, when a drive box of a first chassis is blocked, all the drive boxes of a second chassis connected subsequently therefrom will be blocked, and the data in the drive boxes arranged subsequently therefrom cannot be recovered based on the RAID configuration. Even if the data could be recovered based on RAID configuration, it is necessary to perform the recovery process based on RAID in all the subsequently arranged drive boxes, according to which the performance is deteriorated. The present system stores a first drive box in a first chassis out of a plurality of chassis, and a second drive box and a third drive box are stored in a second chassis. One of a plurality of expander controllers within the first drive box is connected to an expander controller in the second drive box, and the other expander controller is connected to an expander controller in the third drive box.
