Abstract:
A method of producing a composite material, including providing a surface layer (31) in a first mold (4) such that the surface layer is in contact with an interior surface thereof, disposing a second mold (5) in position so that a space is defined between the second mold and the surface layer, the second mold having plural groups of perforations (11, 11A, 11B); feeding expanded resin beads (30) to the space to fill the space therewith, deaerating the space, and then introducing a heating medium into the space successively through the plural groups of perforations of the second mold to fuse and bond the expanded resin beads.
Abstract:
A process of producing a foamed molding, wherein expanded, substantially non-crosslinked polypropylene-based resin beads are heated in a mold to fuse-bond the beads together into a unitary body. Each of the expanded beads has been surface-modified with an organic peroxide.
Abstract:
Expanded, substantially non-crosslinked polypropylene resin beads capable of producing a high rididity foamed molding at a relatively low temperature. The beads are produced by a process including a step of dispersing substantially non-crosslinked polypropylene resin particles in a dispersing medium containing an organic peroxide to obtain a dispersion, a step of heating the dispersion to decompose the organic peroxide and to modify the surface of the surface-modified polypropylene resin particles, and a step of expanding the non-crosslinked, surface-modified polypropylene resin particles using a blowing agent.

The present invention provides thick extruded foam which is extruded polyolefin resin foam having open cells, used for cushion material and packaging material and the like, which exhibits uniform physical product properties, high expansion ratio, and uniform cell diameter. The extruded open cell foam of the present invention is an extruded foam exhibiting an open cell foaming ratio of 50% or greater, the base resin whereof is principally composed of a mixed polymer consisting of 4.5 to 75 parts by weight of component A consisting of an ethylene ionomer resin, 0.5 to 30 parts by weight of component B consisting of a polyolefin resin having a melting point exceeding 120°C, and 20 to 95 parts by weight of component C consisting of one or two or more polymers selected from a group of ethylene-propylene rubbers, styrene elastomers, and polyethylene resins having melting points of 120°C or lower (where component A + component B + component C = 100 parts by weight). Various kinds of additives such as anti-shrinking agents can be mixed in this extruded foam.
Abstract:

Abstract:
The present invention provides polyolefin resin foam particles, i.e. multilayer foam particles each comprising: a core layer which is in a foamed state, and which is configured from a polyolefin resin; and a coating layer with which the core layer is coated. The coating layer is configured from a mixed resin including a polyolefin resin (A) and at least one resin (B) selected from polystyrene resins and polyester resins. The weight ratio (A:B) of the polyolefin resin (A) to the at least one resin (B) in the mixed resin is in the range of 15:85 to 90:10. The present invention also provides a composite stacked body in which a foam-particle moulded body of said polyolefin resin foam particles is used. The foam-particle moulded body exhibits excellent solvent resistance, and has a surface exhibiting excellent adhesive properties with respect to thermosetting resins. Furthermore, the foam-particle moulded body is capable of providing a composite stacked body which includes a thermosetting resin, and with which excellent productivity is exhibited.
