Abstract: Attaching device for a rail by means of elastic fastenings of the type comprising a spring-forming elastic plate tightened by a bolt against a sleeper clip of plated plastic material bearing on the rail support and on the rail base. The spring plate has a triangular or trapezoidal known shape of which the bigger side bears in parallel onto the rail base and covers the plastic sleeper clip which has a substantially identical contour and presents thereto a corresponding concave bearing surface according to the desired deformation of the plate, substantially spherical and centered on the axis of the tightening mean. Application to railway constructions, particularly of the type of long rails, for high speed trains.

Abstract: The aim is to rid oneself of the mechanical imprecisions in a spectrometer comprised of a monochromator (10), of light guides (1100) for light transmission and of a sampling device (1200) for the output slot level. To this effect, the spectral images are sensed by multiple faces adapted to the input spectral image of a light guide and supplied to a sampler (1200). It is the section (1102) of the light guide which is adapted to the sampling device.

Abstract: An improved pile-type, fin weatherstrip includes an elongated V- or U-shaped barrier fin bonded to a base strip and located between a pair of upstanding pile fiber arrays. The barrier fin is formed of thermoplastic film which is preferably smooth, but which may be roughened, dimpled or otherwise provided with a large number of pockets, or which may have a flocked surface. A lubricant grease is provided in the channel shaped cavity of the barrier fin, which lubricant is progressively dispensed in response to a wiping action type of movement which occurs when the barrier fin is compressed by the pile arrays during usage. The lubricant grease is exuded progressively over the useful life of the weatherstrip toward the free edges of the barrier fin located at or near the forward projecting face of the weatherstrip where such grease is dispensed in small amounts to decrease breakaway force, lower sliding friction and improved air infiltration characteristics. The barrier fin may be perforated so that lubricant grease is also forced into the fibers of the pile arrays where it will also work to the surface of the weatherstrip and improve the aforementioned properties.

Abstract: 1370215 Mats M KESSLER 12 June 1972 [28 June 1971] 27272/72 Heading A4S Mat sections 2, 3, 4, Fig. 1 providing a perforated frictional surface for walking upon or for preventing slipping of a car wheel, each consist of a first series of parallel plastics top strips 6 injection moulded integrally with a second, transverse series of more widely spaced parallel bottom strips 9, 9a, 9b, the mat sections 2, 4 being detachably secured together at adjacent side edges by latching links 12 each of which is integral at one end 13 with a strip 6a of the mat section 2, has a neck portion 14 extending under the strip 6b of the mat section 4, and has a latching member 16 which extends upwards between strips 6b and 6c of the mat section 4, the member 16 being forced between and overlying bottom strips 9c, 9d of the mat section 4. Extensions 9', 9a', of the strips 9, 9a space the adjacent side edges of the mat sections. A separate latching link for use where the integral link is removed in cut down sections has a latching member at each end which fits between the two outermost top strips of adjacent mat sections. The mat sections 2, 3 are detachably joined along adjacent end edges by joining pieces 20 which have a link bar 22 and end tabs 24, 25 which underlie adjacent strips 6 in the two sections. Filler strips 26, Fig. 5 with end tabs 26' 28' underlying adjacent strips 6 are inserted between appropriate strips 6 to form a pattern or design and a ramped edge 32 Fig. 9 is connected to a side or end of the mat by connecting links which engage in a space between a strip 38, connected to the main body 40 of the ramped edge, and the main body, and in spaces between strips 6 of the adjacent mat section: The upper surfaces of the strips 6 are corrugated or dimpled to increase friction and the under surface of the strips 9 cut away to aid drainage.
