Abstract:
Syntheses of a new blue EC monomer (ProDOT-MePro), and a new red EC monomer (ProDOP-Et2) are described. Two additional new types of EC monomers (15) based on 3,4-alkylenedioxythiophene include fluorinated EC monomers (15) and an EC monomer including silicon. EC polymer devices having more than one different color EC polymer to enable additional colors to be provided using subtractive color mixing are also described, as well as EC polymer devices incorporating a logo, image, or text, are generally obscured when the device is colored, but become visible when the device is not colored. Also described are EC polymer devices that include a cathodic EC polymer layer, a gel electrolyte, a counter electrode, and reference electrode. Working prototypes of such devices exhibit significant increases in the speed of transition of the EC device from a colored state to a transparent state.

Abstract:
A filter media and methods are provided. The media is stretchable and exhibits a high degree of elongation which thereby extends its surface area during pleating. By extending surface area of media during pleating, the initial differential pressure is lowered as the area of media is stretched while keeping the same efficiency range with a compressed thickness of media on the affected area.
Abstract:
The present embodiments relate to a method and a technical equipment for implementing the method. The method comprises receiving a message; identifying an action request from the message; determining a keyword from the message; monitoring the requested action, and detecting a data item relating to the action; and associating the keyword with the detected data item.
Abstract:
Disclosed are systems and methods for processing events in an event stream using a map-update application. The events may be embodied as a key-attribute pair. An event is processed by one or more instances implementing either a map or an update function. A map function receives an input event from the event stream and publishes one or more events to the event stream. An update function receives an event and updates a corresponding slate and publishes zero or more events. Systems and methods are also disclosed herein for implementing a map-update application in a multithreaded architecture and for handling overloading of a particular thread or node. Systems and methods for providing access to slates updated according to update operations are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A two-wheeled vehicle parking mechanism, comprising a lifting and dropping gear, the lifting and dropping gear being provided with two front wheel driving rods set in parallel, each front wheel driving rod comprising a first sliding rod and a second sliding rod, the first sliding rod sliding relatively to the second sliding rod, and the mechanism comprising a controlling part that connects to the second sliding rod for controlling the lifting and dropping of the front wheel.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and computer storage mediums are provided for blending custom terrain patches onto a terrain of a virtual three-dimensional environment. A method includes accessing terrain data that describes a mesh representing the surface of the terrain of the three-dimensional environment. The mesh is constructed of primitives that are defined by a terrain altitude at each vertex. A surface grid is determined from the primitives such that each point in the surface grid includes the terrain altitude where the point falls on the mesh. Custom terrain data is also accessed that includes a custom grid of terrain altitudes. A patch grid is determined from the custom grid such that each point in the patch grid includes a terrain altitude derived from the custom grid. The patch and surface grids are blended such that each terrain altitude in the patch grid modifies its corresponding terrain altitude in the surface grid.
Abstract:
An electromagnetic pointer is disclosed. The electromagnetic pointer comprises a pen holder assembly, a circuit board, a metal rod, a ferrite core with coils and a trigger device. The diameter of the pen holder assembly is less than 6 mm. The circuit board comprises a resonance circuit. The metal rod has a low permeability. The ferrite core with coil constitutes an inductor and the coil electrically connects to the circuit board through a conductive wire to complete the resonance circuit. The ferrite core has a hollow center so that the metal rod can move through to trigger the trigger device and change electric properties of the resonance circuit.
Abstract:
A general, facile, and reversible nanocrystal (NCs) phase transfer protocol via ligand exchange using nucleotides and/or nucleosides is provided to generate reversibly water-soluble nanocrystals. This phase transfer strategy can be employed on a wide variety of chemically synthesized nanostructured materials including semiconductors, metal oxides and noble metals with different sizes and shapes. The nucleotide/nucleoside-capped nanocrystals can disperse homogeneously in aqueous or alcohol media retaining, for example, high photoluminescence quantum yields. The disclosed water-soluble nanocrystals have excellent colloidal and photoluminescent stability independent on the pH and ionic strength, minimal hydrodynamic size, and are stable in cells and suitable for in vitro cell labeling, cell tracking, and other bioimaging applications.
