Abstract: A low-pressure drip irrigation system, comprising: a distribution pipe made of collapsible sleeve with a plurality of holes in the walls thereof; a plurality of branch tubes equipped with low-pressure drip emitters; and a plurality of connectors, connecting the branch tubes to the holes of the distribution pipe. The sleeve is made of opaque and reflective material that prevents the growth of algae and heating. The holes may be prefabricated or made in the field by a hand-held tool. The connectors have a base part with two protruding collars and a narrow neck therebetween, for mounting in the holes with the first collar inside the distribution pipe. The second collar may be formed as a separate threaded member. The base part of the connector may be enclosed in a pliable sleeve providing tight connection to the hole's edges. A method for assembly of the drip irrigation system includes deploying of the distribution pipe in the field, filling the pipe with water, cutting holes in the pipe by means of the hand-held tool, and inserting the connectors into the holes of the distribution pipe to attach the branch tubes.
