Abstract:
A method and apparatus are described for synchronizing mobile station (i.e., wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU)) media flows during a collaboration session. Inter-WTRU transfer request messages, flow addition request messages and session update request messages may be exchanged between a plurality of WTRUs and a session continuity control application server (SCC-AS). Each of the messages may include a session description protocol (SDP) attribute line containing time synchronization information (e.g., a presentation time offset (PTO) information element (IE), a media flow group identity (ID) and a synchronization tolerance IE). The SCC-AS may update the time synchronization information and include the updated information in messages it sends to the WTRUs, which may re-synchronize their respective media flows based on the updated time synchronization information.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for operating supplementary cells in licensed exempt (LE) spectrum. An aggregating cell operating in a frequency division duplex (FDD) licensed spectrum is aggregated with a LE supplementary cell operating in a time sharing mode for uplink (UL) and downlink (DL) operations. The LE supplementary cell may be an FDD supplementary cell dynamically configurable between an UL only mode, a DL only mode, and a shared mode, to match requested UL and DL traffic ratios. The LE supplementary cell may be a time division duplex (TDD) supplementary cell. The TDD supplementary cell may be dynamically configurable between multiple TDD configurations. A coexistence capability for coordinating operations between the LE supplementary cell with other systems operating in the same channel is provided. Coexistence gaps are provided to measure primary/secondary user usage and permit other systems operating in the LE supplementary cell channel to access the channel.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for session duplication within the advanced multimedia system (AMS) framework are disclosed. The method includes duplicating a session running on a first application or device on a second application or device. A method and apparatus for sharing media is disclosed. The method includes sharing media running on a first application or device with a second application or device.
Abstract:
An automatic anti-focusing mechanism which generates and emits one or more distortion signals includes one or more sound or light generators which generate the distortion signals in various portions of their respective spectrums. The emitted distortion signals are received by an active automatic focusing camera and inhibit the ability of the active automatic focusing camera to properly detect a signal reflected off of a subject. Accordingly, the ability of the active automatic focusing camera to properly focus upon a subject is severely limited or disabled.
Abstract:
A method for distributing information to a user of an information system via a device begins by selecting a user profile. Information is received at the device and is filtered with the selected user profile. The filtered information is displayed to the user.

Abstract:
Method and apparatus for delivering voice/data services within a piconet operating over a limited range or over a WLAN (1803) communicating with 3GPP devices by reformatting data into IP format before delivering to the WLAN (1803). The service is Short Message Service (SMS) (102). Upon receipt of the SMS message, relevant routing information is retrieved. A PDGW (1805) address for the SMS message is identified and sent to the PDGW address which identifies the WLAN use equipment (UE) (1801) for receiving the SMS and reformats the SMS message into IP format for delivery to the UE. A protocol architecture is provided for SMS delivery over WLANs, in particular, for UMTS/CDMA based SMS over WLAN (1803) through two alternative mechanisms: SMS tunneling and SMS proxy, for protocols for the delivery of SMS across the WLAN (1803).
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are described for delivering content object or multimedia service ("content") to a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) roaming in a visited network. In one example, the roaming WTRU sends a request message to a home or visited network. The home or visiting network determines that the WTRU is roaming and availability of the requested content at the visited network. A media path may be established between the WTRU and the visited network/home network on a condition that the requested content is available/unavailable at the visited network. In another example, the home or visiting network may determine an optimal content location and send an indication to the WTRU or a network node to obtain the requested content from the optical content location. The optimal content location is learnt from content location information obtained from request messages, response messages, subscriptions and published information.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for generating a topology for wireless peer-to-peer (P2P) networks. A network architecture comprises a traffic optimization service including a traffic optimization server and an adaptor to effect bi-directional translation of a request-response protocol of the traffic optimization service and a signaling protocol of a multimedia network. The traffic optimization server stores information related to wireless communication systems comprising user/location id information including cache proxies, media gateways, and network peers of multiple access networks and cost metric information including maximum bit rate, guaranteed bit rate, storage capacity, CPU capabilities, number of clients serving, battery capabilities, reliability of path, and supported video/audio codec.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are provided for performing group-based machine-to-machine communication. Machine -type communication (MTC) wireless transmit/receive units (WTRUs) may operate in MTC groups. MTC WTRUs belonging to the same MTC group may use a group-based International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) and a group-based IP address for data transmission. Group-based network registration may be performed. A group-based IP address and radio resources may be proactively allocated for an MTC group. A master MTC may perform network registration/attachment process on behalf of the MTC group. A group of MTC WTRUs may transmit data according to staggered time windows.
