Abstract:
A method for sealing a conduit (12) in a spoolable wellbore intervention rod (10) includes exposing an interior of the conduit (12) at a location (26,34) proximate the Earth's surface while the spoolable rod (10) is deployed in a wellbore (21). A curable sealing compound is introduced into the exposed interior of the conduit (12). The compound is allowed to cure.
Abstract:
The present invention regards a rod (10) suitable for being inserted into a deviated wellbore (1) in connection with completion operations or intervention operations in a production well or an injection well related to the oil and gas or geothermal industries and a method of manufacturing the same, the rod (10) including a leading portion (10L) and a trailing portion (10T), wherein the rod (10) comprises an outer structure (16) capable for holding a filler material (14) influencing the density of the rod (10), and that the density of the rod (10) at the leading portion (10L) is less than the density of at least parts of the trailing portion (10T).
Abstract:
An electrically-enabled semi-stiff wellbore rod and guide nose system is provided, the system including at least one electrical cable disposed in a semi stiff wellbore intervention rod, a termination housing having one end connected to the end of the rod, the termination housing containing fiber optic sensors and the at least one electrical cable, a crossover connected to the other end of the termination housing, a ported coupling connected to the end of the crossover on one end of the ported coupling and having a lower termination for connection to devices on the other end of the ported coupling, where the at least one electrical cable extends through the interior of the crossover from the termination housing and to the ported coupling, one or several pressure-tight tubing(s) surrounding the at least one electrical cable in the interior of the crossover, where the at least one electrical cable is not in pressure communication with the interior of the interior of the crossover, the at least one electrical cable terminating for electrically connectable reception by devices at the lower termination.
Abstract:
A protection tool is provided to protect a control line in a safe area while one or more slips of a spider are being closed. In another embodiment, a safety interlock system is provided to prevent the closing of the slips before the control line is pulled away from the tubular string. In yet another embodiment, a safety interlock system includes a safety interlock trigger adapted to be actuated by a protection tool. The safety interlock trigger is adapted to detect the physical presence of the protection tool, and thereafter send a signal to the interlock system to enable an operator or a control mechanism to safely close the slips.
