Abstract: A coke oven door comprises a side bar (3) designed to be sealingly applied against a door frame (2), at least one resiliently flexible bar (5) secured at its centre to the door (1) and curved to apply transverse forces at its ends (5a) to the side bar (3). Eccentric wheels (7) are placed between the curved ends (5a) and the side bar (3) and are constantly held against the latter by the said ends (5a). The wheels (7) are rotatingly mounted about eccentric shafts (8) mounted on the side of the door (1). Elongated holes (12) are provided in the side bar (3) to slidingly receive bolts (13) secured to the door (1). This system ensures that a satisfactory seal is constantly provided between the door (1) and the oven despite deformation of the frame (2) during coking since the sealing edge of the side bar (3) is held constantly against the frame (2).
