Abstract:
Nanoparticles having a hydrophilic surface coatings having biological, molecular biological, biochemical and medical applications, and method for their production.
Abstract:
Process for producing metal particle sols having a metal particle content of ≧1 g/l, comprising the steps of a) reacting a metal salt solution with a solution containing hydroxide ions b) reacting the solution obtained from step a) with a reducing agent, wherein at least one of the solutions in step a) comprises a dispersing assistant, metal particles produced by the process and the use thereof.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to nanoparticles having a hydrophilic surface coating, to methods of production thereof and to the use thereof in biological, molecular biological, biochemical and medical applications.
Abstract:
The present invention provides compositions containing transparent thermoplastic polymer, surface-modified oxide particles with a particle size of less than 200 nm, and organic NIR absorbers. The compositions of the present invention may find use in reducing diathermancy in sheets, films, glazing systems and roofing systems which may be incorporated into automobiles and buildings.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to pigment preparations containing(a) at least one pigment having an average primary particle size of 0.1 to 50 nm selected from the group consisting of carbides, nitrides, borides, and silicides of the elements Ti, Zr, Hf, Si, Ge, and Sn,(b) at least one dispersant having a weight average molecular weight (M.sub.w) greater than 1000, and(c) water. The invention further relates to the use of such pigment preparations in inks for ink-jet printing.
Abstract:
A color photographic recording material which contains particles of elemental silicon and/or of solid compounds in which silicon is present in stoichiometric excess, having an average diameter of .ltoreq.120 nm, is distinguished by improved protection against UV radiation.
Abstract:
Luminescent inorganic nanoparticles comprising: (a) a core made from a first metal salt or oxide being surrounded by (b) a shell made from a second metal salt or oxide being luminescent and having non-semiconductor properties. These nanoparticles can be advantageously used in (fluorescence) resonance energy transfer ((F)RET)-based bioassays in view of their higher (F)RET efficiency.
