Abstract: PURPOSE: A vehicle navigation system is provided to lower cost and simplify a system. CONSTITUTION: A vehicle navigation system comprises a vehicle speed sensor(120), an acceleration sensor(140), a GPS receiver(160) and an altitude calculation unit(150). The vehicle speed sensor calculates the speed of the running direction of a vehicle. The acceleration sensor calculates the acceleration of the running direction of the vehicle. The GPS receiver calculates the navigation information of the vehicle using a GPS signal. The altitude calculation unit calculates the altitude of the vehicle using information calculated by the vehicle speed sensor and the acceleration sensor and information calculated by the GPS receiver.
