Abstract: PURPOSE: A tsunami database establishment and tsunami computation method by unit tsunami is provided to rapidly predict the scale of tsunami in case of earthquakes without establishing large amount of database. CONSTITUTION: A method for predicting the height of tsunami includes the following steps: computing the heights of tsunami respectively in a plurality of areas with predetermined unit areas; computing wave heights of respective earthquake occurred areas; computing a ratio between the wave heights of the respective earthquake occurred areas and a predetermined wave height; and computing the height of tsunami at a predetermined area based on the computed ratio. A database unit(101) is for storing data of the plurality of areas.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A tsunami database establishment and tsunami computation method by unit tsunami is provided to rapidly predict the height of tsunami. The ratio computing unit computes ratios between respective wave heights of the earthquake occurred areas and a predetermined wave height.
