    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing an aqueous dispersion which can stably produce an aqueous dispersion having a small average particle diameter and a small amount of an unemulsified material. SOLUTION: The apparatus for producing an aqueous dispersion has a twin-screw extruder 10 in which two screws 12a are disposed in a barrel 11, a cooling means 20 provided on the forward end side of the barrel 11 of the twin-screw extruder 10, and a flow passage 30 which connects the forward end of the twin-screw extruder 10 with the cooling means 20, and part of the flow path 30 is constituted of a connecting pipe 32 and the diameter D (mm) of the screw 12a of the twin-screw extruder 10, the bore diameter d (mm) of the connecting pipe 32, and the length L (mm) of the flow path 30 meet the relationship of equation (1): 2≤ä(D 3 ×L)/d 4 }≤300.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous dispersion having sufficient adhesiveness, especially adhesiveness to a molded polypropylene article and giving a coating film having excellent water resistance in spite of the absence of organic solvents and chlorine-containing polymers, and to provide a method for producing the dispersion. SOLUTION: The aqueous dispersion contains (A) a polyolefin, (B) 5-20 pts.mass of an acid-modified polyolefin based on 100 pts.mass of the polyolefin A, (C) 1-10 pts.mass of an anionic surfactant based on 100 pts.mass of the polyolefin A and (D) 0.5-20 pts.mass of water. The polyolefin A contains 80-99 mass% of propylene unit and has a crystallinity of 0.1-16%, and the acid-modified polyolefin B has a weight-average molecular weight of 1,800-35,000 and an acid value of 3-80 mg/g.
