    Abstract: PURPOSE: A composition for lowering cholesterol which includes microalgae protein hydrolysate and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to increase production yield by using ultrasound. CONSTITUTION: A composition for lowering cholesterol comprises protein hydrolysate of microalgae. The microalgae is Chlorophyte, Phaeophyceae, Rhodophyte, Cyanophyta, Bacillariophycea, Dinophyta or Haptophyta. The Dinophyta is Tetrselmis suecica. A manufacturing method of the composition for lowering cholesterol comprises the following steps: eluting protein by processesing with ultrasonic wave on the microalgae; and manufacturing protein hydrolysate by using proteinase. In the sonication step is processed with the frequency of 90-100 kHz at 26-28 deg. Celsius for 4-5 hours. The hydrolytes from the second step is produced by hydrolyzing in the pH of 6-7, at 45-60 deg. Celsius for 50-60 minutes.
