Abstract: PURPOSE: A composition containing plant-derived flavonoid is provided to suppress influenza virus and to treat and prevent viral diseases. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing or treating viral diseases contains isorhamnetin compounds as an active ingredient. The isorhamnetin compound is an analog or homolog of isorhamnetin compounds. The virus is influenza virus. The composition suppresses hemagglutinin protein and neuraminidase protein activities. A viral gene is hemagglutinin or neuraminidase gene. A composition for preventing or treating viral diseases contains 3,4'-dihydroxyflavone compounds as an active ingredient.
