    Abstract: A light diffusion plate for an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) backlight is provided to restrict light diffusing particles from being coagulated and to prevent discoloration generated by a lamp of a backlight unit, due to high light transmissivity, light diffusivity, and luminance and high stability against ultraviolet rays. A light diffusion plate for an LCD backlight contains transparent matrix resin and plural light diffusing particles(10) dispersed in the transparent matrix resin. The light diffusing particle comprises inorganic particles(1) and an organic polymer outline layer(2) formed on the surface of the light diffusing particle. The organic polymer outline layer is graft-polymerized on the surface of the inorganic particle. The inorganic particles are at least one selected from a group consisting of silica, potassium carbonate, barium sulfate, titanium oxide, aluminum hydroxide, glass, talc, mica, white carbon, magnesium oxide, and zinc oxide.

    Abstract: A spacer for an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to mitigate the impact due to temperature change and suppress the deformation thereof due to appliance of load, thereby keeping a uniform cell gap. A spacer(10) for an LCD includes an inorganic particle(1) as a core, and an outer organic polymer layer(2) wrapping a surface of the inorganic particle. The inorganic particle is silica, potassium carbonate, barium sulfate, titanium dioxide, aluminum hydroxide, glass, talc, mica, white carbon, magnesium oxide, or zinc oxide. The inorganic particle has an average diameter of 1.5-6 um. The inorganic particle graft-polymerizes with organic monomers such as methylmethacrylate, styrene, etc., thereby forming the organic polymer outer layer on the surface thereof. The outer organic polymer layer is formed of polymethylmethacrylate, polystyrene, mercaptopropyl, poly(dimethlysiloxane-block-oligo(ethylene glycol)methyl ether methacrylate), or acryl-based polymer.
