Abstract: A composition comprising the extracts of herbal mixture BHH 17 is provided to promote growth and differentiation of osteoblast, activity of alkaline phosphatase(ALP), secretion of VEGF(vasal endothelial growth factor) and bone healing activity in fracture animals, so that the composition is useful for preventing and treating fractural disease. A composition for preventing and treating fractural disease comprises 0.1-50 wt.% of the extracts of herbal mixture BHH 17 including Astragalus membranaceus, Cinnamomum cassia, Lithospermum erythrorhizon; Siebold & Zuccarini, Pueraria thunbergiana Benth, Citrus aurantium fruit and Phellodendron amurensis in a weight ratio of 1-5: 1-5: 1-5: 1-5: 1-5: 1-5 which are prepared by extracting herbal mixture BHH 17 with water, C1-C4 lower alcohol or their mixture, preferably water and ethanol mixed solvent, more preferably 30-70% ethanol mixed solvent.
