    Abstract: A control method of nonsense-mediated MRNA decay, using a new gene PIROT which contains MIF4G domain is provided to treat or suppress NMD-related diseases and cancer by using a gene PIROT controlling nonsense-mediated MRNA decay(NMD). A gene PIROT controlling nonsense-mediated MRNA decay(NMD) is a separated gene PIROT having the base sequence of SEQ ID NO:1 related with NMD and a separated gene PIROT having the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2. The NMD inhibitor comprises DNA suppressing the expression of the separated gene PIROT having the base sequence of SEQ ID NO:1 related with NMD. The DNA comprises small interfering double-stranded RNA(siRNA) represented by SEQ ID NO:3 and SEQ ID NO:4.
