Abstract: PURPOSE: A method of concentrating tocols contained in rice embryo bud oil is provided to efficiently concentrate tocols at a relatively low temperature and pressure by processing esterified rice embryo bud oil with supercritical carbon dioxide. CONSTITUTION: A method of concentrating tocols contained in rice embryo bud oil comprises: a step of manufacturing esterified rice embryo bud oil by esterifying the rice embryo bud oil; and a step of extracting esterified oil by adding supercritical fluid to the esterifie rice embryo bud oil. The supercritical fluid is supercritical carbon dioxide. The extraction step is performed at a temperature of 30-70 deg. C and a pressure of 10-20MPa. The weight of tocols concentrated in extraction residues when esterified oil is extracted is 2-10times of the tocol weight contained in the esterified rice embryo bud oil.
