Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for detecting marine organisms using an optical sensor is provided to reduce volume and load and to classify the species of the marine organisms. CONSTITUTION: An optical sensor for detecting marine organisms comprises: a chamber(10) containing seawater with marine organisms; a light source(20) placed at the upper portion of the chamber; a band-pass filter part which receives light emitted by response from the marine organisms contained in the seawater and filters the band of the light; a photodetector(70) which receives filtered light and outputs electric signal corresponding to the filtered light; and analysis unit(80) which analyzes the electric signal and detect the marine organisms. The light source is formed of light emitting diodes.
