Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system and a method for enhancing a dead zone in a fiber-optic gyroscope caused by the limited performance characteristics of optical elements composing a fiber-optic gyroscope and, more particularly, to a system and a method for enhancing a dead zone in a fiber-optic gyroscope by identifying direct optical elements with distorted optical phase modulation characteristics, selecting eligible direct optical elements through the identification, and controlling the output intensity of interference signals through an optical attenuator. The present invention can enhance a dead zone in a fiber-optic gyroscope caused by the limited performance characteristics of the optical elements composing the fiber-optic gyroscope by identifying the direct optical elements with the distorted optical phase modulation characteristics, selecting the eligible direct optical elements through the identification, and controlling the output of the interference signals through pump LD driving current and the optical attenuator. Thus, the present invention can control the characteristics of an optical part for removing the dead zone.
