Abstract: PURPOSE: An automatic connecting and separating device of an engine-transmission and starting method using the same are provided to connect an engine and a transmission by direct operation of a user. CONSTITUTION: An automatic connecting and separating device of an engine-transmission comprises a drive motor(20), gears(51,52), and a spline shaft(30). The gears are connected to the drive motor for rotation. The spline shaft is connected to one of the gears through spline. The spline shaft is reciprocating in an axial direction while rotating. The spline shaft automatically connects or separates an input transfer gear box to or from a transmission. A moving screw part is formed on the outer circumference of the spline shaft.
