    Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for treating the waste of solid rocket propulsion unit are provided to safely treat propellant filled in a solid rocket propulsion unit based on water jet. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for treating the waste of solid rocket propulsion unit includes a disassembling unit(10) for a propulsion unit, a water jet treating unit(20), a pulverizer(30), a dissolving unit(40), a filtering unit(50), a crystallizing unit(60), and a drying unit(70). The water jet treating unit eliminates propellant filled in a combusting pipe into the form of chips based on water of high pressures. The pulverizer pulverizes the propellant into the form of particulate with water. The dissolving unit dissolves ammonium perchlorate contained in the propellant into water. The filtering unit separates an ammonium perchlorate aqueous solution from propellant slurry. Crystallized ammonium perchlorate is precipitated, refined, and dried.
