Abstract: The duplex coating process comprises forming an aluminide layer on the surface of Ni-base superalloy by Al-diffusion method, and vapor-deposition yttrium on diffused aluminide layer under vacuum atmosphere by ion-plating method. The process increases corrosion resistance and heat resistance of Ni-base superalloy used as material for gas turbine engine blade.
