Abstract: PURPOSE: A method and a system for updating a multimedia system within a vehicle are provided to integrately update a multimedia system through vehicle network through an external general purpose terminal except for a CAN(Car Area Network) port. CONSTITUTION: External storing medium stores update information for updating a module. A head unit(20) executes an update program and updates the external module which is connected through an internal module based on the update information. The head unit includes an external connection terminal(10) for connecting the external storing medium. An update program(25) generates an install state file of an update target module.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A road guide method depending on the area selection is provided to guide a driver the road by selecting the road preferred from the driver or by excluding the road not preferred. The area selection information comprises the road or region information selected to be used or not to be used when guiding the road. In the process that the area selection information is entered, the road or region is selected and registered using the address retrieving manner before guiding the road. The setup selection information is registered. The road guide is performed by applying the setup selection information and the area selection information.
