Abstract: The device comprises a line regulator valve(103), a converter regulator valve(108), and compressors(110) of which the pilot pressures and reaction pressures are regulated by a torque compensation relay valve(110). The pilot pressure of the torque compensation relay valve(110) is regulated by a torque compensation solenoid valve(125) so as to decrease a loss due to an excessive oil pressure rise and a shock at the time of gear change. The solenoid valve is controlled in accordance with an opening degree of a throttle of an engine and an output speed of the speed change gear.

Abstract: A torque converter (1) is connected to the output shaft of the engine to transmit the power of the engine through a fluid medium. A middle shaft portion (2) includes an oil pump shaft (7), a turbine shaft (8) and an output shaft (10), while first and second planet gear units (3a,3b) are disposed around the middle shaft portion (2) to vary the revolution speed of the middle shaft portion (2). The components of the first and second planet gear units (3a,3b) are driven or braked by means of a plurality of clutches (C), brakes (B) and one-way clutches (F), thereby forming a speed control device (4). With the device, a space saving effect is realized.
