Abstract: circulating reeled cocoon yarn around nylon multifilament yarn, which is hot-water treated to obtain the nylon yarn of hot-water shrinkage rate of about 10 %, to obtain a doubled yarn having the cocoon yarn in a twisted form around the nylon yarn; and air-spraying the doubled yarn. The yarn made by the method has the intrinsic excellent properties of silk, such as luster, touch, moisture-absorption and moisture- releasability, and whose weaknesses, such as poor stretchability, lack of valumeness, weak abrasion-resistance and weak strength, are complemented by the core nylon yarn.

Abstract: removing some portions of the sericin of the raw silk made from cocoons by using the proteolytic enzyme solution; fixing the rest sericin by using aldehyde-based fixation agent, e.g. glutaraldehyde; graft-polymerizing the sericin- fixed raw silk by using the vinyl monomer, e.g. hydroxyethyl methacrylate or methacryl amide; and weighting the raw silk. This method can enhance the sericin fixation rate by fixing the sericin after removing some portions of soluble outer portions of the sericin, improve the stiffness of the fixed raw silk by graft-polymerizing with vinyl monomer as well as enhancing the weighting effect.
