    Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided is a method for producing self-assembled nanoparticle of sericine which can be effectively used in functional cosmetics and a drug delivery system. CONSTITUTION: The method for producing self-assembled nanoparticle of sericine comprises the steps of: reaction of sericine extracted from cocoons with 2-(O-methoxypolyethylene glycol)- 4,6-dichloro- S-triazine (actPEG1) or 2,4-bis (O-methoxypolyethylene glycol)-6 -chloro-S-triazine (actPEG2) in a base buffer solution; and dialysis of a resulting product, wherein the sericine is extracted from cocoons in hot water of 40 to 120 deg. C or treated by enzyme to have molecular weight of 1,000 to 20,000 dalton; the reaction is carried out at 4 to 40 deg. C for 3 to 36 hours in the presence of base buffer solution; and the base buffer solution is selected from the group consisting of a boron salt buffer solution, tris buffer solution, AMPSO buffer solution, CHES buffer solution, CAPSO buffer solution, AMP buffer solution, and CAPS buffer solution.
