    Abstract: PURPOSE: A constant-temperature heat treatment method for ferritic stainless steel nitrified with high temperature gas is provided to suppress the generation of a hard martensitic phase on the surface of the stainless steel, and to form a soft infiltrated nitrogen layer, thereby improving plastic processability of a process necessary after heat treatment. CONSTITUTION: A constant-temperature heat treatment method for ferritic stainless steel nitrified with high temperature gas comprises a first step, a second step, and a third step. The first step is to nitride the surface of ferritic stainless steel. The second step is to cool the ferritic stainless steel to a second preset temperature. The third step is to heat-treat the ferritic stainless steel while maintaining the ferritic stainless steel at the second preset temperature.
