Abstract: PURPOSE: A composition for enhancing indigoid content in plants and a method for enhancing indigoid content using the same are provided to remarkably increase twice the accumulated amount of indigoid in plants compared with a non-treated group, thereby being used in industrial cultivation of indigo plants. CONSTITUTION: A composition for enhancing indigoid content in plants contains an inducer of systemic acquired resistance (SAR) of the plants. The inducer is selected among benzo(1,2,3)thiadiazole, isonicotinic acid, acibenzolar-S methyl (ASM), beta-aminobutyric acid (BABA), and thiamine (vitamin B1). A method for enhancing indigoid content in plants comprises the steps of: preparing a plant which produces indigoid; and providing the inducer to the plant.
