Abstract: PURPOSE: A composition containing Eriobotrya japonica extract is provided to reduce body weight and to suppress adipocyte proliferation. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing or treating obesity contains Eriobotrya japonica extract as an active ingredient. The composition also contains Nelumbo nucifera G. extract as an active ingredient. The Nelumbo nucifera G. extract is isolated using a solvent selected from the group consisting of water, alcohol of 1-5 carbon atoms, ethyl acetate, acetone, ether, chloroform, benzene, hexane, and dichloromethane.

Abstract: 본 발명은 비파 추출물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 약학 조성물에 관한 것이다. 상기 비파 추출물은 암세포를 이용하여 측정한 항암효과 즉, 암세포에 대한 세포사멸 효과가 있고, 암전이 저해 효과가 우수한 것으로 확인되었을 뿐만 아니라, 천연물 추출물이므로 부작용과 안전성 관련 문제가 거의 없고 실험결과 세포 독성도 없으므로, 이를 유효성분으로 포함하는 상기 약학 조성물은 암을 치료, 예방 또는 개선하기 위하여 사용될 수 있다.

The solvent extract is obtained using alcohol solution of 1-4 carbon atoms. A food composition for preventing or treating diabetes contains hexane fraction of the extract as an active ingredient.
