Abstract: The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition and a dietary supplement of a composition comprising a leaf extract of Nelumbo nucifera gaertn and Eriobotrya japonica as an active ingredient for treating and preventing obesity. The extract of Nelumbo nucifera gaertn and Eriobotrya japonica of the present invention has been verified to have effects of significantly suppressing a formation of lipid and promoting lipolysis from an experiment for a suppressing effect of lipid formation and a lipolysis promoting effect using 3T3-L1 adipocyte. The herbal mixture extract of Nelumbo nucifera gaertn and Eriobotrya japonica of the present invention can be usefully used as a pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating obesity.
