Abstract: PURPOSE: A composition containing sun dried salt and Eclipta prostrate extract for treating or preventing diabetes is provided to suppress protein tyrosine phosphatase(PTP1B) and α-glucosidase and treat diabetes without diabetes. CONSTITUTION: A composition for preventing or treating diabetes contains salt and Eclipta prostrate extract as an active ingredient. The salt is sun dried salt. The Eclipta prostrate extract is isolated using water, 50-100% of alcohol of 1-4 carbon atoms, athylacetate, hexane or dichloromethane. The content of salt and Eclipta prostrate extract is 1:1~30:1 based on weight part. A food composition for relieving or preventing diabetes contains salt and Eclipta prostrate extract as an active ingredient. The food composition is used in the form of food, beverage, gum, team vitamin, complex or functional food.

A food composition for preventing or relieving diabetes contains sun dried salt and Perilla frutescens extract as an active ingredient. A method for producing functional salt having effects of preventing and relieving diabetes comprises: a step of adding Perilla frutescens to water and heating at 80-100°C to extract Perilla frutescens; a step of adding salt to the extract; a step of stirring and heating; a step of concentrating; a step of collecting precipitate and drying.
