Abstract: A system for charging an amount to a user of a prepaid mobile phone in the online is provided to enable the user to charge the prepaid mobile phone in the online by transmitting a short message to the prepaid mobile phone, and connecting the prepaid mobile phone and an ASR based on the short message. A charging server transmits a mobile number of the user to an SMSC(Short Message Service Center) if remainder of the user is smaller than a predetermined amount. The SMSC transmits the short message including an ASR number to the prepaid mobile phone of the user. The prepaid mobile phone inputs a password and selects a charging amount by connecting to the ASR. The ASR transmits an account number, the mobile number, and a withdrawal amount of the user to a PG(Payment Gateway), and transmits the message for making the user input the password of a user account. The PG requests withdrawal to the user account, receives a result, and transfers the withdrawal amount to a provider account. The PG informs the ASR of a transfer result and the ASR sends a charging completion message to the prepaid mobile phone. The ASR requests charging to the charging server. The charging server requests a prepaid mobile phone server to charge the amount to the prepaid mobile phone.
