Abstract: PURPOSE: An impact testing device and an impact testing method using the same are provided to fix various kinds of projectiles to a jig and smashing the projectiles to a testing body by falling at a desired speed, thereby obtaining a diverse data required to accurately and easily study a collision. CONSTITUTION: An impact testing device comprises a body(10), a guide rail(30), a metallic jig, an electromagnet(50), and an electromagnet transferring unit. The body includes a mount unit(20) where a target object(1) is mounted. The guide rail is extended to be inclined at a predetermined angle from the mount unit of the body to a lateral direction. The metallic jig is installed to be slid along the guide rail and holds projectiles(2) which are about to be collided to the target object. The electromagnet generates a magnetic force with an electric energy applied from the outside, thereby holding or releasing the jig in the upper part of the guide rail. The electromagnet transferring unit transfers the electromagnet in a longitudinal direction of the guide rail.
